The challenge
Research consistently shows that therapeutic alliance — the relationship between client and counsellor — is the single strongest predictor of treatment success. Yet most referral systems are built on keyword search, location filtering, and luck.
The result: up to 40% of clients disengage before completing treatment, often because the match was wrong from the start. This costs practices revenue, wastes therapist capacity, and — most importantly — leaves vulnerable people without the help they need.
The solution
Auxin uses a neural language model trained on hundreds of millions of text samples. When a client describes their situation in natural language — "I feel so down all the time" or "my drinking is getting out of hand" — our model converts that text into a rich mathematical representation of its meaning.
We do the same for every therapist's bio. Then we measure how similar those representations are. The result is a match based on genuine semantic alignment, not the accidental presence of shared words.
